A family excursion to the Pôle Well
Retour à la vie de quartier

Only a few weekends left before Christmas! It’s time to get ready for the festivities, shop for gifts and fully immerse yourself in the magic of the holiday season.

Take advantage of this pre-Christmas fever to plan a little family outing to Pôle Well, where the luminous atmosphere will amaze young and old alike, and where the many boutiques will allow you to pick up some lovely gifts along the way.

Between a photo in the Enchanted Alley, a window-shopping tour, a meet and greet with Santa Claus, a good hot chocolate and a festive musical atmosphere, it’s a day well spent!

Fuel up first!

There’s nothing quite like a family activity when stomachs are full! It provides the energy needed to get the little ones ready to marvel at the installations on Promenade Wellington. And a good coffee before a busy day is always a good idea!

So kick off your visit to Pôle Well with a family breakfast or brunch at one of the many restaurants on the Well offering lunches, such as Millmans, a neighborhood snack bar specializing in…you guessed it: brunches!

Their pancakes are now legendary, and the menu formula lends itself particularly well to sharing dishes with smaller appetites. Pro tip: order a little bit of everything and share!

How about a little window (and real!) shopping?

Once your palate is satisfied and your belly is full, take a digestive stroll along Promenade Wellington to admire the windows that have been decorated for the holidays, and try to spot as many works as possible by Youloune, the artist-illustrator who has left her lovely mark in many of the street’s windows!

Stop by Chez Robin, the local market, to pick up fine gourmet products such as artisan chocolates, and grab a drawing of Muffin and Bobby to enter the Santa’s mailbox drawing contest.

And don’t forget to stop off at the Ruelle enchantée to take in the sights and immortalize your festivities in its dazzling decor!

Let yourself be carried away by the musical ambience of the street, and if you’re lucky (or if you plan your visit accordingly!), you might even come across one of the two Pôle Well choirs, who will be singing hymns on the street on Friday, December 8 and Saturday, December 9.

While you’re out and about, don’t hesitate to enter the boutiques to see the multitude of products on offer and say hello to the shopkeepers. Who knows, you might just find the perfect gift for that special someone!

Among others, La Mistinguette, an eco-friendly boutique that has been open on the Well for 10 years now, is an ideal place to find small, handcrafted and local gifts, body care products, clothing, jewelry, home accessories and so much more.

A must this holiday season, check out the gorgeous tableware at Boutique Réunion, browse the children’s corner at the Librairie de Verdun and pick up some pretty coloring pencils at Les Cahiers de la Troisième to color Muffin and Bobby’s drawing later!

Meet Santa Claus on the Well

If you’re planning your trip to Pôle Well on Saturday, December 9, come and see Santa Claus, who will be welcoming your little ones from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and again from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.! For the second year running, he’ll be stopping off at Pôle Well, more precisely in the Église Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs, to listen to the wishes of the little ones.

Whether you’ve been good or naughty, everyone is welcome!

Take the time to warm up the kids and admire the gigantic Christmas village, also located in the church. Spanning 400 square feet, this miniature world will mesmerize your children with its funfair, electric train and glittering houses.

Wrap up the day with a hot chocolate

There’s nothing better than ending this trip to the Pôle Well with a hot chocolate at Lili et Oli, where the family-friendly atmosphere of a neighborhood café is sure to please everyone. The little ones can color in their new crayons while sipping hot chocolate and you relax with a well-deserved snack.

Then it’s off home to wrap presents (or play with them, whichever you prefer!) and end the day with a Christmas movie!
