The Carrefour jeunesse-emploi de Verdun is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping young people and adults aged 15 to 35 in Verdun and L’Île-des-Sœurs integrate into the workforce, return to school, stay in school and become socially independent.

Job description

  • Meet with students in local schools and recruit for projects associated with the Créneau carrefour jeunesse agreement (entrepreneurship, volunteerism and volunteering).
  • Leads group workshops and meets with young people individually.
  • Creates, organizes and manages projects or, as the case may be, integrates with existing school projects.
  • Accompanies young people in implementing projects.
  • Seeks out and establishes links with community partners in line with established projects.
  • Completes reports, statistical forms and questionnaires.
  • Participates in team meetings.

 

Requirements

  • Over 3 months’ experience in a similar position is a strong asset.
  • Training and relevant experience in project management.
  • Knowledge of entrepreneurship, volunteering and volunteerism.
  • High degree of autonomy (ability to work with very little supervision).
  • Ease and interest in creating meaningful links with young people aged 15 to 35.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) required.

 

Working conditions

  • Work schedule: Seventy (70) hours every two weeks, mainly during the day, with occasional evenings and rarely weekends.
  • Salary offered: between $22.26 and $29.42 per hour, depending on experience and the salary scale in the collective agreement. Please note that the salary scale is currently under review and will be adjusted and increased shortly.
  • Cell phone and laptop provided for out-of-office work.
  • Monthly OPUS card paid for travel.
