Call for volunteers: Project Verdun Vert – Summer 2024

Get involved in an urban agriculture volunteer project this summer, while receiving a financial allowance! The CJE invites you to take part in the 3rd edition of the Verdun Vert project.

On the program:

  • Learn the basics of gardening and urban agriculture by taking part in training sessions (offered free of charge!);
  • Participate in gardening activities and maintenance of green spaces;
  • Contribute to various initiatives to promote healthy eating and environmental preservation.

Details :

– No experience required;
– Financial allowance of $100 per week;
– The project will start on July 2, for a duration of 8 weeks;
– Activities will take place on weekdays (Monday to Friday) and during the day, mainly in the gardens in front of Monseigneur-Richard high school (3000 Gaétan-Laberge Blvd.), in addition to some activities in community gardens and other urban agriculture projects in the Verdun Borough;
– Volunteers must be available 3 days a week, for a total of 15 hours per week (the schedule will be established according to volunteers’ availability).
– Application deadline: June 14, 2024.

 

Eligibility criteria:

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old;
  • Live in Verdun / L’Île-des-Sœurs (postal codes H4G, H4H or H3E);
  • Be available 15 hours a week during the 8-week project (July 2 to August 23, 2024);
  • Be able to perform physical work.
