The Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi de Verdun is currently looking for a professional development counsellor to join their great team for the school perseverance project.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Meet with students in difficulty and at risk of dropping out of school in Verdun schools
- Organizes various special projects related to school retention in collaboration with local partners (schools, organizations, etc.)
- Accompanies young people in their academic success
- Carries out various individual or group interventions on subjects related to the personal or professional development of students
- Collaborates, creates and maintains links with community partners
- Keeps client files complete and up to date by diligently recording all relevant information
- Completes reports, statistical forms and questionnaires
- Sits on consultation tables
- Verifies the integration of youth into school and sometimes into employment by following up with them
- Participates in team and stakeholder meetings
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in career development, guidance, psychology or social work or other relevant training
- Individual and group counselling skills
- Relevant experience in a school setting is an asset
- Ability to maintain and develop partnerships, spirit of collaboration in a multidisciplinary context
- Autonomy, adaptability, time and priority management and versatility
- Bilingualism required
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Permanent position of 70 hours every two weeks, from Monday to Friday, during the day, as well as according to the school attendance schedule
- Tuesday evenings on a rotating basis
- Salary to be discussed according to experience and the salary scale of the collective agreement
