Listen to the experimental music, marvel at the view overlooking Verdun and the city center, admire the screenings of performative films while enjoying a good cold beer … Welcome to the evenings OK LÀ!
They take place on the roof of parking Éthel, space with a very high event potential today unusual. The perfect opportunity to discover this place!
OK LÀ Present:
ROBERT AIKI AUBREY LOWE
ROSE KALLAL (avec projections 16mm)
Also active under the alias Lichens, New Yorker Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (Kranky, Thrill Jockey, DDS, RVNG Intl) has collaborated with Genesis P-Orridge, Lee Ranaldo, Tyondai Braxton and new age legend Ariel Kalma, and was the lead actor of the movie A Spell to Ward Off the Darkness (2013), directed by Ben Russell and Ben Rivers, two of the most prominent contemporary filmmakers at the moment. His vast cosmic lullabies will induce a state of deep listening. Premiering in Montreal, the New York audiovisual artist Rose Kallal, whose performances have been presented at MoMA PS1 (New York), Atonal (Berlin), CTM (Berlin) and Sonic Acts (Amsterdam), will deliver a live performance with three 16mm projectors over darkwave modular synths. For the first time in North America, Swiss artist Martina Lussi (Latency), also at the helm of magazine / experimental electronic music reference Zweikommasieben, will deploy synthetic environments with distant club sounds. And DJing before, between and after: Montrealer RAMZi (RVNG Intl, 1080p, FATi), with space dub pop and sidereal exoticism horizons.
