Mike Sawatzky, a founding member of the band Les Colocs, presents a unique acoustic trio performance. Accompanied by harmonica player Dave Hamel and singer-guitarist Jason Hudon, Mike offers a stripped-down, mellow, and intimate take on the band’s songs. The same music we cherish, revisited and enriched by touching memories and anecdotes about his late friends Patrick Esposito di Napoli and André Dédé Fortin.

 

ABOUT

A native of Saskatoon, Mike Sawatzky is a founding member of the legendary band Les Colocs. Still very much part of the adventure, the talented singer-guitarist has been with the group since the beginning. A musical prodigy, he was already performing at the age of 16 at Buds On Broadway, a popular blues bar in Saskatoon. Already equipped with a wealth of experience, the gifted musician arrived in Quebec in the second half of the 1980s. It was on the stage of the Rising Sun, the famous Montreal jazz/blues club, that Mike met harmonica player Patrick Esposito, also a founding member of Les Colocs. Patrick then introduced Mike to André Dédé Fortin.
